Print magnification for patrons with a visual disability
We have a powerful magnifying screen that illuminates and magnifies any book or paper: a book, a checkbook, a map, a photograph etc. The level of magnification can be as great as twenty times. Located in the Reference Dept. on the main level.
Library materials and programs for patrons with visual or auditory disabilities
The library offers fiction and non-fiction materials in several formats: large print books, books on cassette and books on CD. If a patron would like to receive home delivery of recorded and Braille material from the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, the Reference Dept. can provide the application.
The Children's Department offers videos that are signed for the hearing-impaired, as well as a collection of children's books in Braille.
